XR Network+ launches new accelerator programme

XR Network+ has launched a free XR Accelerator for people working in extended reality (XR) and virtual production (VP) technologies at UK universities. The programme is open to early to mid-career researchers, late-stage PhD students, and research-engaged technicians.

The accelerator provides a unique opportunity for participants to develop entrepreneurial skills, explore what goes into creating a tech product business, and learn how to apply research in commercial contexts.

With a mix of in-person (York) and online workshops led by experienced startup founders, the programme will cover subjects including understanding IP emerging from research, commercial pathways and models, and routes to impact.

The XR Accelerator supports the wider purpose of the XR Network+ project to advance UK-wide collaborative research and development in XR and VP technologies. Participants will learn how to turn ideas and research into a sustainable technology business and build new connections with peers working in VP technologies.

Running from 13 May to 18 June 2024, the XR Accelerator programme is delivered in partnership with Codebase, the UK’s largest technology incubator.

Applications for the accelerator programme are now closed.
