Online seminars: A series of online seminars for researchers and industry members working in extended reality (XR) technologies and virtual production (VP). Taking place from 2:00pm to 3:15pm on the third Wednesday of every month, the seminars provide a forum for academic and industry peers working in XR and VP to delve into new R&D in the field. XR Accelerator: A part-time, six-week accelerator programme for people working in XR and VP technologies at UK universities. Running from 13 May to 18 June 2024, the XR Accelerator provides a unique opportunity for participants to develop entrepreneurial skills, explore what goes into creating a tech product business and apply their research in commercial contexts. Open to early-mid career researchers, late stage PhD students and research-engaged technicians. Opportunity closed.
Embedding R&D Grants round 2: An opportunity for research staff at UK universities to bid for up to £60,000 to explore the transfer of knowledge between academia and industry in areas aligned with VP. Applications open early May 2024 with projects commencing in mid-September 2024 for six months. Opportunity closed.
Prototyping, Impact and Assessment grants round 2: An opportunity for research staff at UK universities to bid for up to £10,000 to develop new ideas and complete existing research related to VP and the themes of XR Network+. Applications open early May 2024 with projects commencing in mid-September 2024 for six months. Opportunity closed.
RSC R&D Challenge: A technical research and development challenge with funding and support for academic-led projects to create new tools and pipelines that enable real-time performance and data capture for dynamic stage conditions.
