XR Network+ online seminars

In 2024, XR Network+ is hosting a series of online seminars for researchers and industry members working in extended reality (XR) technologies and virtual production (VP). 

Taking place from 2:00pm to 3:15pm on the third Wednesday of every month, the seminars provide a forum for academic and industry peers working in XR and VP to delve into new R&D in the field.

Upcoming seminars

18 September: Charged objects of performance. Hear about an R&D project led by University of the Arts London with Nissen Richards Studio, The Horniman Museum, and Border Crossings’ ORIGINS fesival that is exploring the use of eXtended Reality technologies to affect public understanding and knowledge of marginalised cultures. 16 October: Towards realtime made in code. Hear about a collaboration between UAL’s Fashion, Textiles and Technology Institute (UAL FTTI) and Numerion Software that is exploring the power of supercomputing to create believable, interactive, real-time virtual garments for use on Virtual Production (VP) projects. June: Seminar postponed to 17 July.

July: Exploring new formats for game and performance with Sarah Martindale (University of Nottingham), Kadja Manninen (Manchester Metropolitan University) and Paul Tennant (University of Nottingham).
