XR Network+ launches round two of virtual production R&D grants

XR Network+ has launched a second round of research and development grants for university-led projects that explore novel use cases and applications of virtual production and extended reality technologies.

Prototyping, Impact and Assessment R&D grants of up to £10,000 are available to help identify and start to solve real industry problems.

Embedded R&D grants of up to £60,000 are available to help transfer knowledge and build on existing relationships between academic and industry partners that are working towards tangible outcomes.

The projects must be undertaken in collaboration with a named industry partner and will help to establish a UK research agenda for virtual production related content creation and consumption.

Funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, XR Network+ is building a community of academic research and industry R&D at the convergence of ideas, technologies, and creative practice in VP to deliver impact and opportunity for the whole of the digital economy.

XR Network+ is led by XR Stories at the University of York in partnership with The University of Edinburgh, University of Arts London, Cardiff University and Ulster University.
