XR Network+ at SXSW London
Rich Mix (The Studio), 35-47 Bethnal Green Road, London
XR Network+ is taking part in SXSW London 2025, the European debut of the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival, a major event celebrating the convergence of tech, film, music, and culture.
The project will present a panel discussion: All the world’s a stage: Virtual performances for global multi-platform theatre, with the following speakers:
- Sarah Ellis, Director of Creative Innovation at the Royal Shakespeare Company.
- Neill Campbell, Professor of Visual Computing and Machine Learning at the University of Bath.
- David Gochfeld, Director and Performance Lab Fellow at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
As the Royal Shakespeare Company embraces its ambitious creative vision for 2030 (committing to multi-platform productions with best uses of technology, to reach global audiences and make theatre more accessible), the panel will discuss how advancements in technologies like motion capture, machine learning, and immersive design offer groundbreaking opportunities to expand access and enhance creativity.
The panel will explore how we can retain the true magic of traditional, live theatre—its intimacy, liveness and uniqueness – whilst innovating?
A platform for innovation, discovery, and creative collaboration, SXSW London brings together industry leaders, artists, and attendees in Shoreditch, East London, from 2 – 7 June 2025.
